Breakout Film Festival Final Deadline for Short Films

Breakout Film Festival, Submissions are well underway for our May short film contest and we’d love to invite you to submit your film

The winning films from each month will be selected as part of Breakout Film Festival 2021 and compete for the Best Short Film title.

The event will be held January 2021 in the arts and culture capital of the world, Edinburgh. The winner will be awarded $500 plus our coveted trophy.

Breakout Film Festival is a monthly contested international short film festival with an annual event held in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Submissions are open each month, January to December, with a monthly winner subsequently chosen. Notification of selection will be sent on the 15th of the following month.

In January 2021, the winning film of each monthly contest will be screened at our live event with an overall winner chosen by our esteemed jury.

Our 2019 festival was held on the 15th June 2019 in the world’s art & culture capital, Edinburgh. ‘Answer’ directed by Adam Palmer was our inaugural winner of Best Short Film. Breakout Film Festival 2020 will take place in late 2020.
