Disney Theatrical Offering The Lion King Experience Curriculum at Home
Disney Theatrical Productions is now offering a free, virtually-accessible version of The Lion King Experience, an arts program that introduces students to theater through the lens of the Broadway production of “The Lion King.”
The web-based curriculum was originally designed for the classroom, as an extra offering for schools producing ‘Kids’ and ‘Jr.’ adaptations of “The Lion King,” but with new step-by-step instructions, students can get the full experience at home.
First launched in 2015, The Lion King Experience grants accredited elementary and middle schools the chance to produce condensed, age-appropriate versions of “The Lion King.” Through the curriculum, kids will study theatrical processes like play writing, directing, designing, technical theater, and more.
The now-unlocked curriculum offers an 11-session course for students ages 8-11 and an 18-session course for students ages 12-15, with video instruction, at-home learning instructions, student materials, and more.
