The Outpost VFX Breakdown by Worldwide FX

Worldwide FX, Our team was led by Worldwide FX’s VFX Supervisor Stanislav Dragiev and worked closely with the director Rod Lurie to complete 228 shots.

Our work was varied but it mainly consisted of set extensions and FX work to be able to recreate the events that took place near Kamdesh at the end of 2009. And we were in charge of building a photorealistic 360 degrees 3D terrain, that looked exactly like the original military outpost in Afghanistan.

“The Outpost” (2020) is directed by Rod Lurie and is starring Scott Eastwood, Caleb Landry Jones, Orlando Bloom, Milo Gibson. The movie is based on a 2012 non-fiction book “The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor” by CNN anchor Jake Tapper.
