International Animation Day 2019 Official Videos!
The International Animation Day Video for 2019 has been released! 28th October 2019, was The 18th International Animation Day.
October 28 is International Animation Day. It’s a day to recognize and celebrate the artists, the scientists and the technicians behind animated art including animated movies.
ASIFA created the International Animation Day (IAD) in 2002, honoring the birth of animation, recognized as the first public performance of projected moving images: Emile Reynaud’s Theatre Optique in Paris, on the 28th October 1892.
This year’s poster was designed, painted, and donated by Giannis Koutsouris from Greece and coordinated by Anastasia Dimitra of ASIFA Hellas.
ASIFA Around the World – IAD 2018 Highlights
This is a brief highlight reel of the many celebrations that happened in 2018 around the world to celebrate International Animation Day. The International Animated Film Association (ASIFA) created IAD in 2002, honoring the birth of animation, recognized as the first public performance of projected moving images: Emile Reynaud’s Theatre Optique in Paris, on the 28th October 1892.

This was the animatic that was provided to each animator to help maintain consistency between artists who would interpret it visually but leave the pacing of the movement the same.
ASIFA Central USA ANI-JAM 2019
International Animation Day ANI-JAM! To celebrate the 2019 poster created by Giannis Koutsouris, ASIFA Central USA worked together to create a buggy exploration of the weird world of the poster. Animators include R. Brad Yarhouse, James Middleton, Andrew Zesiger, Dylan Shay, Robert Swieringa, Julie Goldstein, Alexis Kole, Charles Wilson, and Joshua Harrell. With support from Anastasia Dimitra and ASIFA Hellas.
