VFX Online has revealed the results of its annual Most Anticipated Movies for 2020 in the category of visual effects and animation, and the top four films on the list are directed by women. Wonder Woman 1984, Black Widow, Marvel’s Eternals, and Mulan, are directed by, respectively, Patty Jenkins, Cate Shortland, Chloe Zhao, and Niki Caro. These movies are most looking forward to seeing on the big screen in 2020.

1. Wonder Woman 1984 (5 June 2020)

Wonder Woman 1984 (also marketed as WW84: Wonder Woman) is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Wonder Woman, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is a sequel to 2017’s Wonder Woman and is the ninth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by Patty Jenkins, from the script she wrote with Geoff Johns and David Callaham, from the story written by Johns and Jenkins.

The film is directed by Cate Shortland, written by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson.

The Eternals is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics race of the same name. The film is directed by Chloé Zhao.

Mulan is an upcoming American war drama film directed by Niki Caro, with the screenplay by Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Lauren Hynek and Elizabeth Martin, and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is based on the Chinese folklore “The Ballad of Mulan” and is a live action adaptation of Disney’s 1998 animated film of the same name.

5. No Time to Die (10 April 2020)
