Avenue 5 Screen Graphics by Territory Studio

Territory Studio, HBO’s new Sci-Fi comedy series, centered around perhaps the most luxurious and technically advanced spaceship on TV (on the surface, at least), required multiple screen graphics to help enhance the storytelling for Armando Iannucci’s latest creation.

Obviously we’re no stranger to creating screen graphics in the Sci-Fi world, but this project allowed us to delve into the Sci-Fi comedy world. The storybeats have a different flow to that required of a more serious script, making it an interesting and fun change for the team. Working across all 8 episodes of this first season, we created graphics to complement the narrative, from providing a high-end, but playful, to low-tech and low-budget. Initially designing graphics we felt were fit for purpose, they evolved as the story developed and we realised pushing the aesthetic to be bigger and more flamboyant was a better direction.
