Respect is an upcoming American biographical drama film based on the life of singer Aretha Franklin. Directed by Liesl Tommy, it stars Jennifer Hudson in the leading role, with Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Audra McDonald, Marc Maron, Tituss Burgess, Saycon Sengbloh, Hailey Kilgore, Skye Dakota Turner, Tate Donovan, and Mary J. Blige also starring. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 25, 2020 in limited theaters, before expanding to a wide release on January 15, 2021.
