The Umbrella Academy VFX Breakdown by Spin VFX

The SPIN team, lead by Supervising VFX Producer Carrie Richardson and Visual Effects Supervisor/Partner Jeff Campbell delivered 563 shots for the Netflix original series The Umbrella Academy.

This fan-favourite show required complex effects simulations, creature development, and massive destructions that culminated in the heart-warming yet riveting first season. Among the more ambitious shots that SPIN delivered was the iconic ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’ sequence of the first episode, which featured each of the Hargeeves children dancing in their own respective rooms in The Academy in one massive ‘dollhouse’ scene.

SPIN received a 2019 Emmy nomination for our work on The Umbrella Academy for ‘Outstanding Special Visual Effects’.

‘The series returns for season 2 in 2020.
