New Swedish VFX School – Visual Magic

The need for VFX artists is constantly growing and so is the need for good VFX schools. So we’re very happy to announce that a brand new school – “Visual Magic” – will open in Skellefteå (Sweden) this year.

About Visual Magic Education

Visual Magic – VFX artist for games and film is a college education * that provides cutting-edge expertise in digital, visual special effects (VFX).

The program has two specializations:

– 3D visualization – for those who want to create in 3D
– Digital Compositing – for those who want to combine 3D with filmed material

The training takes place at Campus Skellefteå, starts in September and is 2.5 years, of which half a year is internship (learning in work) at a special effects company. Lectures are given by industry professionals and to a certain extent in English, especially since we have internationally recognized top names on visits.

You will master the most common software and gain knowledge of, among other things, photography and film (including lighting, composition and camera technology, and storytelling) as well as organic and mechanical movement patterns, character design and how VFX can be used to reinforce a story. During the training, you will work in project form with nearby professional roles (eg producers, animators, filmmakers, etc.) to gain a deep understanding of workflows around VFX.
